New Sephora Goodies

Last month I made a couple of trips to Sephora. I received a gift card for Christmas so I decided to use that up. I knew Tarte had come out with a new liner so I wanted to try it out. I also wanted to check out the new Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains. The YSL gloss was totally an impulse buy. The second time I went to Sephora, I only had the intention of buying a brush cleanser, and I ended up leaving with the new Kat Von D Contour Palette (typical me).

I have used the Tarteiest Liner a few times and so far I really like it. Reasons why I like it: super matte, long-lasting, price is reasonable ($24) including brush, and the brush is fairly easy to use. The packaging is okay. The first time I used it, I squeezed the tube too hard, and a little blob came out. I learned my lesson after that so I just started dipping the brush into the tube.

IMG_0044Sephora Collection came out with new shades of their Cream Lip Stains not long ago. I really wanted to get Marvelous Mauve but of course it was sold out. The only color in stock that stood out to me was African Violet so I decided to snatch it since it was the last one. I already own a couple other of these lips stains. They aren’t my favorite formula but for the price ($13) they are well worth it! They are long-lasting but they do transfer and crease a little bit. I still have my eye on Marvelous Mauve and Watermelon Slice. I would definitely recommend Strawberry Kissed.

IMG_0045Every time I go to Sephora I cannot help but to stop and just drool over YSL cosmetics. They have the most beautiful packaging ever. I decided to get one of the new Volupte Tint-In-Oil in the color Rose You. It’s supposed to be a very hydrating oil with a little tint. I really liked the way it felt when I tried it on my hand so that’s why I decided to go ahead and purchase it. It is very hydrating and feels great on the lips. However, I may be returning because I don’t think it’s worth the price of $32.

Last but not least is the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette. I knew I wanted this the second I saw it on Kat Von D’s instagram a while back. I held back on purchasing because I have the Anastasia Contour Kit but of course I couldn’t help myself. I’ve only used it once and so far I’m really impressed. All of the colors are very pigmented and very easy to blend. I plan on doing a full review for it soon so stay tuned for that!

Shade of the Day- Valentine’s Day

image I FINALLY get to talk about all the lipsticks I wear. This is one of the biggest reasons why I was so excited to start this blog!

Kat Von D- Backstage Bambi, NARS- Costa Smeralda

Kat Von D- Backstage Bambi, NARS- Costa Smeralda

Today’s lipstick choice is Backstage Bambi by Kat Von D. These liquid lipsticks are by far my favorite formula. They are super long lasting and do not transfer AT ALL. This color is a vivid hot pink with a blue undertone. If you don’t like extra drying lipsticks then try MAC Pink Pigeon.

I lined my lips with NARS Velvet Lip Liner in Costa Smeralda. I was so excited when NARS came out with these last fall because I am such a fan of the Velvet Lip Pencils. These liners are also long lasting and will prevent any feathering. I will say they are a bit tough to apply and can even be a little sticky. It doesn’t bother me because of the color pay off and longevity make it worth it.

I hope you are having a wonderful Valentine’s Day. My husband and I decided to go on a mini road trip to Portland! Yay for yummy food and tax free shopping! Happy weekend!
