Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario- First Impression

Welcome back! The Master Palette by Mario just came out a few days ago and I was able to get it online at Anastasiabeverlyhills.com before it sold out. I wanted to do a post to tell you my thoughts and show you some swatches. It’s currently available online at Sephora, Macy’s, and Ulta. It should be sold in stores very soon. You can purchase it for $45.

This is my very first Anastasia palette so I was very excited to try it. The packaging is very simple and practical, yet elegant. The eyeshadows are very creamy and buttery. There is only one shade that is not very pigmented and that is Hollywood. It is the very first swatch on the left and you can barely see it on my skin tone. I absolutely LOVE all of the matte shadows. The colors are just perfect. My favorites so far are Isabel, Violeta, Bronx, and NYC. The only bad thing I have to say about the formula is that it does have a lot of fall out. I noticed it especially when I used Bronx. I would just be careful when using. If you are using the darker colors, then I would do foundation and concealer last. The palette is also a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be.

I purchased this palette because I am a huge fan of Mario and I wanted to be a supporter. It’s a very beautiful palette. I would say it definitely reflects Mario and his style of work. Would I have purchased this if it weren’t a collaboration with Mario? Probably not to be honest. I think all of the neutral shades can be found in other palettes I have like the UD Naked. Claudia, Bronx, and Muse are probably the only shades I don’t have in my collection. If you love Mario and his work then I would definitely recommend purchasing. Especially if you do not have shades like the ones included. It’s a great all over neutral palette with the perfect shades to give you a pop of color.

I used Lula, Isabel, Violeta, Bronx, and 5th Ave.

Colourpop Love Bug, Lumiere 2, and Limbo Ultra Matte Lipsticks

img_5325Hello everyone! I made a purchase a few weeks ago during Colourpop’s Labor Day sale. I purchased three Ultra Matte Lips for under $12! For every $10 you spent you got a free lipstick. I already own a handful of these, but I wanted a couple more options for Fall. I purchased the shades Love Bug, Lumiere 2, and Limbo. Love Bug was the shade I got for free.

Love Bug

img_5327

Love Bug is described as a Terracotta red. Call me crazy, but I don’t think I have anything like this. I love this color! This is definitely my favorite out of the 3 I purchased. It appears much darker on the lips once its dried. I wish it was more similar to the actual shade of the tube, but I still love it! The formula of this one is also very different. It’s thicker, easier to apply, and not watery like the others.

Lumiere 2

img_5326

This shade is a dusty mauve. I don’t have the original Lumiere but I believe it’s lighter. The only color similar from my collection is Too Faced Queen B. Lumiere 2 is a bit darker. You can check out my review on Queen B here. Even though the formula to this one is watery, it’s not difficult to apply.

Limbo

img_5320

Limbo is a deep chocolate brown. For the longest time I was not a fan of brown lipsticks. I finally decided to give one a try and before I spent over $20 on one, I decided to go with a more affordable one first. I actually disliked this one the most. It was SUPER watery and soooooo difficult to apply. It took me three tries to finally get it right. I liked how the color looked with my eyeshadow, but I don’t think I will ever use this one again. I have my eyes on Too Faced Naughty by Nature or Smashbox True Grit.

img_5289Overall, I would recommend Love Bug and Lumiere 2. Love Bug for sure! It’s a great shade for Fall. Colourpop is so affordable and they always have a $5 coupon that practically covers shipping.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette

A few days ago I happened to be scrolling through Instagram at the perfect time. Sephora had a pre-sale for the Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. I believe it was up for about an hour before it sold out. The palette along with the rest of the collection will be available online 5/26 at 9am PST and in stores on 6/16.

IMG_3232

Packaging– Beautiful, very elegant. It reminds me of YSL because of the gold. It’s also very sturdy. It’s about the size of my hand. I think the size is perfect, especially the mirror inside. It is a little bit thicker than I’d like, but I still love it.

IMG_3235

The palette comes with two highlights in Champagne Pop and Proseco Pop (.19oz), a luminous blush in Rose Spritz (.10oz), and two mineral blushes in Amaretto and Pamplemousse (.12oz). When comparing these to the full size, you get about half of the amount. The cost of this palette is $52. On the website it has the value at $136, but if you are only getting half of the amount the value should be around $70.

Highlights

Champagne Pop is the only permanent shade included. I purchased this highlight when it was first released. Champagne Pop is considered a “soft white gold with a peachy pink undertone.” I’d really recommend this palette if you don’t already own this highlight.

Proseco Pop is a medium warm gold. On the website it states this highlight was inspired by “liquid gold.” I would definitely agree. This shade is beautiful! I love gold highlights. I think this palette is worth purchasing just for this highlight. You can see in the picture below its very gold. The other highlights have more of a bronzey tone.

Blushes

Rose Spritz is a beautiful peachy pink with pale gold shimmer. I’ve been wanting to try out the luminous blushes since they first came out, so I was really excited one was included in this palette. This blush gives such a beautiful glow. It also blends beautifully with the highlights.

Amaretto is a mineral blush described as a “toasted almond.” I think this could be used as a bronzer if you have lighter skin. I would use this as an everyday blush on its own with no bronzer.

Pamplemousse is a super bright coral pink. This shade is perfect for a nice pop of color on the cheeks. I love their mineral blushes. They are very pigmented. Matte blushes can sometimes be blotchy but not these. Nope!

L to R: Champagne Pop, Proseco Pop, Rose Spritz, Amaretto, Pamplemousse

I love this palette because all of the shades are so pigmented. To be honest, I expected nothing less from Becca. All of their products are amazing and this palette is no different. I have been a lover of their highlights and blushes for a while now. I think $52 for five Becca products is worth it.

I don’t have very many blushes so it justified my purchase a little bit more. I do have a lot of highlights, but lets be real, is there really such a thing as too many highlights? Never! I’d def recommend this palette based on the quality and the shades. I think the shades are suitable for all skin types. This palette would have been even better if it included a bronzer (or if Amaretto was a bit darker). But I still think it’s a great palette to travel with. Mine came just in time for my trip to Mexico!

IMG_3229

I used Amaretto and Rose Spritz as my blush and Proseco as highlight

I hope this gave you an idea of what to expect from this palette. I don’t think it’s an absolute must have, but it is a nice palette to have in your collection, especially if you are a makeup artist. Let me know if you plan on purchasing!

Favorite Lipsticks for Fall 2015

I recently posted my favorite affordable lipsticks for Fall/Winter. If you didn’t get a chance to read it, you can check it out here. Of course I had to give you guys some higher end options. This was honestly very tough for me. I didn’t realize how many dark vampy colors I had, but I think the lipsticks I chose are great/different options. I apologize in advance for the lighting. These Seattle clouds do not give any natural lighting.

IMG_1710Dose of Colors Truffle ($18)- I’ve already mentioned this lipstick on my blog a couple of times. It’s a great nude with a mauve-y tint. My favorite part about this lipstick is not needing a lip liner.  You can check out my shade of the day post here.

IMG_1728Too Faced Melted Berry ($21)- This lipstick is a very pigmented berry fuchsia color. A little goes a long way with this lipstick. It does have somewhat of a glossy finish so I like to apply translucent powder over it. I purchased mine in a holiday set last year. Check out this year’s set at Sephora. You get four mini lipsticks (including berry) for $25.  I honestly think Melted Berry is worth purchasing alone.

IMG_1718NARS Audacious Lipstick in Audrey ($32)- I LOVE this lipstick. It’s so different and it’s not a color people tend to go with. Which is why I love it so much. It’s described as a red currant. It’s basically a muted red with a little bit of brown. I really like the Audacious line because every color is extremely pigmented.

IMG_1735YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick in 206 ($36)- I’m not that big of a fan of brown lipsticks but this one is doable. It’s a very pretty matte red brown. It’s very creamy and not drying at all. The formula is very similar to the NAR Audacious. It also has that wonderful YSL smell to it.

IMG_1749Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Noseferatu ($20)- I think everyone needs a medium-dark red lipstick and this is it! I have been loving this lipstick with the NARS Velvet Lip Liner in Lanikai.

IMG_1744NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu ($26)- is a deep deep purple. Very similar to NYX Transylvania but this one is 10 times better. It’s a lot easier to apply and more pigmented. I also love the shade Damned. It’s more of a berry red.

I did not use a lip liner or primer for any of these. I wanted you guys to see the true color. I can’t believe I was able to narrow my choices down to 6. I know there are tons of options out there, so I hope these are different to what you have seen so far. For the lipsticks I didn’t include, I will be posting in future shade’s of the day.

Thanks for stopping by!

MAC Haul

This post is wayyyy overdue. Several months ago I received a gift card to Nordstrom. I somehow used it all on MAC products. I’m not sure what came over me because I normally don’t buy MAC. I do love their lip pencils and matte lipsticks.

  1. Strobe Cream– I used to hear really good things about this product so I’m excited to try it. I love me some dewy skin! I purchased the travel size.
  2. Fix + I have never tried this product. I couldn’t help myself because the travel size is so cute. I figured I could use this to spray on my brushes.
  3. Lip Pencil in Dervish– The only nude pencil from MAC I have is Whirl. I wanted something less mauve and more pinky nude. I think this was a good pick!
  4. Lip Pencil in Nightingale– This is such a beautiful plum color. I am so excited to wear this on its own.
  5. Lip Pencil in Burgundy– I had such a hard time deciding between this or Vino. Burgundy has more of a red/brown undertone and that’s what I was looking for.
  6. Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick– I’ve purchased the Viva Glam lipsticks for a while now. I’ve been meaning to pick this one up but I just hadn’t gotten around to it. It’s a pretty pink color with an amplified finish.

One day I was snooping around on social media, I saw that a few limited edition items were in stock, so of course I made a purchase.

  1. Fix + Lavender– Everyone and their momma were going crazy over these. Of course I felt the need to want it as well. I have used this a few times and it feels amazing. I love the lavender scent.
  2. Giambattista Valli Lipsticks in Eugenie and Charlotte  This is another collection everyone went nuts for. I can’t lie… The packaging is beautiful. I wasn’t very interested in this collection, but after seeing it in person I fell in love.
